FileSite 8.5 and Outlook 2010 – worth the upgrade

Saving time when saving attachmentsIf your firm has been happily using the FileSite 8.2 client for years – and I know this is true for many – you may ask “why go to the effort to upgrade?”

There are many reasons to upgrade to 8.5, but here is my current favorite. The FileSite 8.5 Save Attachments option within the Outlook 2010 ribbon.

With this feature, you first select the email in your inbox, then click on Save Attachments. What happens next is even better…

The Scenario

Of course it’s common for drafts of a document to be emailed within the firm for revision and comment.  Sometimes you’ll want to save one of those revisions as a new version of a document.

It is simple. Click ‘Save Attachments’ and it will immediately list the names of the attached file(s).

Choose which one you want, and then tell FileSite whether this is a completely new document, or a version of a document that’s already in WorkSite.

Click, click, done.
